Product Information & Disclosures
This page explains what our product claims mean, what they are based on, and what they don't cover. Asterisks (*) next to claims on watervo.com link to the matching section below, or to a note on that page that does. Last updated: September 29, 2026.
Who we are and what we sell
WaterVO is the retail seller of every product on watervo.com. The WaterVO Floor Model and Countertop Model Vapor Optimizers are made for WaterVO by a third-party manufacturer. Other brands we carry (for example Spout, Waterdrop, iSpring, SodaStream and Aquafeel) are made by those companies. Unless we say otherwise, descriptions of other brands' products are based on information from their manufacturers.
Nothing on this page or on our product pages limits any right you have under California or federal law.
Water output figures
Atmospheric water generators (including our Vapor Optimizers and the Spout Monolith) make water from the humidity in the air. Output depends on your room's humidity and temperature, and it is lower in drier or cooler air. "Up to" figures are maximums, not typical results.
- WaterVO Floor Model: in coastal Southern California, expect roughly 1.5–2.5 gallons per day, and up to about 2.5–3.0 on humid summer days. Output depends on humidity and temperature. The manufacturer's high-humidity test rating is listed in the product's specifications.
- WaterVO Countertop Model: up to about 2.5 gallons per day. Output depends on humidity and temperature, and is lower in drier or cooler air.
- Spout Monolith: up to 2.5 gallons per day (Spout's stated figure; test conditions not yet provided). Output is lower in drier or colder air.
Filters, UV and "optimization" stages
"Optimization stages" is our name for the filter and UV stages the collected water passes through before it reaches the tap. According to the manufacturer's specifications, the WaterVO Floor and Countertop Models use sediment, carbon and ultrafiltration cartridges, a mineral/conditioning cartridge, and LED-UV lamps in the water tanks. The intake air passes through a filter screen.
These stages have not been certified to remove or reduce any contaminant, and we make no claim that they do. We don't claim that water from any of our atmospheric water generators is free of any particular substance, or that it prevents or treats any illness.
Certifications and California registration
We are limiting certification statements on our site to what we can verify, and saying exactly what each one covers. Certification of one part (such as a filter cartridge or a faucet) does not mean the whole device is certified, and a certification for one contaminant does not cover others.
- iSpring RO500AK-BN: listed by NSF International to NSF/ANSI 58 for TDS reduction only, and evaluated by NSF as meeting "lead free" content requirements (weighted average lead content of 0.25% or less). Check the current listing at info.nsf.org.
- WaterVO Floor and Countertop Models: no water treatment certifications.
- Other products: we don't claim a certification for any product unless it is stated on that product's page and can be checked on the certifier's public listing.
In California, a water treatment device that claims to remove or reduce a contaminant with a drinking-water health standard (for example lead, arsenic, fluoride, or PFOA/PFOS) must be registered with the State Water Resources Control Board. You can search registered devices at www2.waterboards.ca.gov/rwtd. We are removing health-related contaminant claims for devices that aren't registered, including from product names and web addresses.
Contaminants: not necessarily in your water
The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by a water treatment device are not necessarily in your water. Any mention of a contaminant on our site does not mean it is in your water. To learn what is in your water, read your water supplier's annual Consumer Confidence Report, or have your water tested by a certified laboratory.
Water quality and health information
Our educational pages and News articles discuss studies and news about water quality in general, and about water systems and places other than yours. We have no information that your water supply has the water quality problems or health hazards described in those articles or studies. Our products were not part of the studies we cite unless we say so. This information is general and isn't medical advice.
Maintenance and replacement parts
It is important to maintain any water treatment or water-making device according to the manufacturer's instructions, including replacing filters, cartridges and UV lamps on schedule. A poorly maintained device may not perform as described.
- WaterVO Floor Model (manufacturer's suggested schedule): sediment, carbon, conditioning and "ELE" cartridges every 6 months; ultrafiltration cartridge every 12 months; LED-UV lamps every 18 months.
- WaterVO Countertop Model (manufacturer's suggested schedule): sediment and conditioning cartridges every 6 months; ultrafiltration and T33 carbon cartridges every 12 months; LED-UV lamps every 18 months.
- Other brands: follow the manufacturer's manual.

Hot and cold water
Units with a hot tap dispense near-boiling water that can scald. Use the child safety lock and keep children away from the hot tap.
Installation
The WaterVO Floor and Countertop Models and the Spout Monolith plug into a standard outlet and need no plumbing. Under-sink, whole-house, softener and plumbed-in dispenser products connect to your plumbing. If you hire someone to install a plumbed system, California generally requires a licensed contractor (for example a C-55 Water Conditioning or C-36 Plumbing contractor) for jobs of $1,000 or more, or any job that needs a building permit. Check local permit requirements. You can check a license at cslb.ca.gov.
Water softeners in California
California law limits how residential salt-based softeners that discharge to the sewer may be installed. They must regenerate on demand (not on a timer) and be certified to a salt-efficiency rating of at least 4,000 grains of hardness per pound of salt (Health & Safety Code §116785). Some local agencies restrict or prohibit them (Water Code §13148). Check with your local water or sewer agency before you buy or install one.
Pre-orders and shipping
Pre-order ship dates are estimates we have a reasonable basis to expect. If we can't ship within the stated time, we'll tell you before it passes, give you a revised date, and let you choose to wait or cancel for a full, prompt refund. You can cancel any time before your order ships for a full refund. See our Pre-Order & Refund Terms.
Returns and warranty
You can return any product within 30 days of delivery for a refund; see our Refund Policy. WaterVO Vapor Optimizers include a 1-year limited warranty from WaterVO. For warranty questions or claims, contact info@watervo.com. Other brands are covered by their manufacturer's warranty. These warranties are in addition to any implied warranties and other rights you have under California and federal law.
Prices
Launch prices and scheduled price increases are stated with dates on each product page. We show a "was" or "compare-at" price only when the product was actually offered at that price, and we say when. Spout Monolith: $1,995 is its regular selling price (verified by WaterVO on September 29, 2026); $1,495 is our special price.
Reviews, press and affiliated sites
We don't publish paid, incentivized or made-up reviews. Our new Vapor Optimizers have no owner reviews yet. We quote press coverage only with its source.
